Doctors/Referrers
Clinical Scope - Inclusions/Exclusions
Spring Emergency Centre is led by experienced Emergency Medicine Specialists, and our facility is equipped with most of the resources typically found in a public Emergency Department. This enables us to confidently manage the majority of patients. However, there are specific situations where patients should be referred directly from your practice to the nearest emergency department.
The following conditions are excluded:
FAST Positive
Confirmed STEMI
Uncontrolled internal bleeding
Current loss of consciousness
Hemodynamically unstable
ABC compromised
Major trauma
Greater than 15% burns or facial burns
Neonatal sepsis
Altered GCS
Besides the exclusions listed, we can treat and manage most other conditions from head to toe. Click HERE to see a list of typical conditions we manage daily.
Referring your patient
A simple referral letter from you would suffice.
Emergencies
If you are referring a patient to be seen by our emergency team, a letter from you is fine.
The patient can bring it with them and walk in at any time during the day. You may call ahead and ask to speak to the Doctor on duty covering the Urgent Care and Emergency.
A discharge letter or summary of visit and the results of any investigations would be sent to you after the consultation or within 48 hours. If required, we do provide a follow up visit to discuss results and wound dressings.
Infusions and IV Antibiotic therapy
If you are referring a patient for an Iron Infusion, Aclasta infusion or or IV Antibiotic therapy, a letter from the GP or other Specialist is required. We would appreciate the inclusion of investigation reports.
For Iron and Aclasta Infusions, please kindly provide your patient with a script, which the patient should fill and come along with to the appointment
For IV Antibiotics Therapy, we stock the following antibiotics - Cefazolin, Clindamycin, Ceftriaxone, Benzyl Penicillin, Flucloxacillin, Tobramycin.
IV Antibiotic can be provided over the required number of days for treatment and would require the patient to come in for consecutive days. The fee is adjusted to $100 for follow treatment.
